Courageous Girls: The Gift of Serving Others

Words of Love

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your steps.

Proverbs 3:5,6

Words of insight

GRACE is one of the greatest ways we can show selfless sacrifice. God gifts GRACE to us through the love and restored relationship He offers us; this is all because of the COST Jesus incurred on the cross.

Being a Courageous Girl, we are able to look around and see the needs of others. Instead of carelessly looking away and focusing on our own needs, we can joyously serve others like Jesus served us. Count the cost and find joy in giving to others in need with your full effort and care.

Parenting Tips

There is a cost in serving others, as Jesus explains in Mark 20. He says that serving others (us) cost him His life, so that we may have life eternally. We typically do not like to pay for anything we do not benefit from directly.

Following Jesus means we consider those around us, in our own spheres of influence, and use our resources and abilities to help them. This demonstrates Christ-like love in ways words do not.

It’s good to be nice (feeling something for others); it’s better to be kind. Kindness involves feeling something AND then acting upon it.
