Friendships can be some of the sweetest and hardest relationships our girls experience. From navigating boundaries and belonging to handling rejection, comparison, and changing friendships, our daughters are learning what it means to love others well—and what it means to be loved well. Terra Mattson sits down with Linsey Driskill and Jonathan Pitts from For Girls Like You Ministries to talk about how we can help our girls practice healthy friendship, develop discernment, and find their identity in Christ rather than in how many friends they have.

🔹 Teach healthy boundaries – Helping our girls understand that respect includes honoring differences, communicating boundaries, and knowing when a friendship is healthy—or when it may be time to step away.

🔹 Let them practice – Friendship is something our girls learn by doing. Rather than solving every conflict for them, we can listen, ask thoughtful questions, and give them space to navigate relationships with our guidance.

🔹 Move from comparison to gratitude – When our girls feel left out or wonder why someone else has more friends, we can help them focus on what is true, recognize what they do have, and trust that their worth isn't determined by their social circle.

🔹 Model what healthy friendship looks like – Our daughters are watching how we show up, keep our commitments, handle conflict, repair when we get it wrong, and care for the people in our own lives.

Friendships will change throughout our girls’ lives, and not every friend is meant to stay forever. Our goal isn't to protect them from every disappointment, but to help them become secure enough in who God made them to be that they can love others well, use their voices, let go when necessary, and remain open to the friendships God brings in each season.

Courageous Girls' motivation is to see a generation of women who are navigating trusted relationships, are confident in who God says He is and who He made them to be and are resiliently moving through the peaks and valleys of life. A generation of women who are rooted in grace and free from the performance-based treadmill we are enticed with every day.

CG answers this goal by providing clear and trusted Biblical, clinical and relational wisdom for moms. With the long-term goal in mind, lessons are created as building blocks and encouraged to unfold within community.

Not only does a CG community provide the perfect place to practice the art of relationship, but it also allows the moms to share the load which provides a diversity in leadership. All the while nurturing a trusted connection with the first model in a daughter’s life, her mom.

Groups provide a safe place to focus on God’s word rather than the competing influences in the world. Instead of competition, comparison and judgment… groups strive to grow in gratitude, joy and acceptance. CG is an intentional choice to equip ourselves and our daughters to love others well and to live from a place of wholeness and grace.
